"I was out doing a soundcheck one day when we were opening for the Rolling Stones [at the L.A. Coliseum in October ‘89] and Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton cornered me. I’m sitting on this amp and all of the sudden they’re both right there in front of me. And Jagger doesn’t really talk a lot, right? He’s just real serious about everything, and all of a sudden he’s like…” He [Axl] adopts an exaggerated Dick Van Dyke-style Cockney, “’…So you got in a fight with Bowie, didja?’ So I told him the story real quick and him and Clapton are going off about Bowie in their own little world, talking about things from years ago. They were saying things like when Bowie gets drunk he turns into the Devil From Bromley…I mean, I’m not even in this conversation, I’m just sitting there listening to them bitch like crazy about Bowie. It was funny."

“This awesome photo must have been taken right after the concert.  How do we know? Muddy’s manager Scott Cameron is front and center with a bottle of champagne. Muddy always had a glass of champagne at the end of the show. And this must have been quite a night as well. Standing in the back row is Willie Dixon, the greatest blues songwriter of all time. And scattered amongst the crowd are Ron Wood, Charlie Watts and Keith Richards, better known as members of The Rolling Stones. Richards thinks of Muddy as one of his all-time greatest influences. The affection is demonstrated in this picture as Richard is reaching between Willie and his daughter Shirley so that Keith can have his hand on Mud’s shoulder for the picture.”
